Your attendance at this course will enable us to sign off Modules 10A and 10B of the Scouts’ First Response scheme. It it relevant whether you are completing your First Response for the first time, or if you now need to renew it.

First Response – part 10A

The Scouts’ First Response training is split into two sections, both of which need to be completed:
Module 10A – attendance at this course will sign off your Module 10A requirements. (The other way of completing Module 10A is to do a blended e-learning/Zoom approach, with links to complete it available here).
Module 10B – this is a short 30-minute practical session. We currently have only very limited availability for Module 10B sessions (and only in the south of the county), but will email when further sessions become available.

Skills of Leadership & Working with Adults

This covers Modules 8 & 9 of the Scouts’ adult training scheme, and is for leaders with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.This training is relevant for volunteers with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.
The course will cover two modules in the Scouts’ adult training scheme: Skills of Leadership and Working with Adults.
Skills of Leadership includes many aspects that will help you with the knowledge, skills and attitudes for being an effective leader including:
PlanningLeadership stylesDeveloping leadership skills in othersIf possible, we ask that you read this factsheet in advance.
Working with Adults includes:

Administration & Running Safe Activities

This course will cover Modules 10 and 17 of the Scouts’ adult training scheme.This training is relevant for volunteers with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. The course covers Administration (Module 10) and Running Safe Activities (Module 17).
Administration includes many aspects that will help you with your responsibilities relating to administration, including:
Member records (and use of OSM for this)Data protectionFinanceInsuranceIf possible, we ask that you read the workbook in advance.
Running Safe Activities will help you to run a safe yet challenging programme for your section, and includes:
